Hard to believe, I know.

Crookwatch: Sara M. Taylor

By following White House orders even after she's no longer employed there, former Bush political director Sara Taylor has shown that she is as crooked as the President, and probably up to her eyeballs in the DOJ scandal as her former boss (I mean Rove). Her refusal to testify on key points today is an indication that she has no interest in helping the Republic, only the Republicans.

Network that helped lead us to war now says we can't leave

Top CNN analysts have concluded for us that the withdrawl of U.S. troops from Iraq at this time would spell disaster. So where were these top CNN analysts back when Bush was making up reasons to attack Iraq? Well, they were where they've always been: on side.
Thanks, CNN, for your wonderful unbiased journalism!

Bush Interview: Proves He's Nuts

ABC News: Bush Not Worried About Low Approval Ratings

President Bush talked to ABC News reporter Elizabeth Vargas this week, demonstrating that the only thing worse than being talked to in a patronizing tone is when it's being done by a complete idiot.

He is back on the wire even during this interview, with the camera right up close. He relies on it for the response to Vargas's first question about Katrina (below), but flies without a net on other answers. I'm not sure which is more painful to watch.
I agree that we didn't do as good a job as we could have done on Katrina. However, I would Premind people that there was a hurricane right after Katrina that hit Louisiana and Texas, and the response was much better coordinated , and the situational awareness on the ground was much improved . And so while I can't predict 100 percent success on a catastrophic — major catastrophic event, I can say that lessons learned from Katrina were being implemented quickly. And the case I make is that hurricane that hit down there in Texas is one where the response was much better.
The ABC News transcript has Bush invoking 9/11 about 3 minutes in to the interview, which shows he is a man of immense restraint.

CNN: Bush urges end to cartoon violence

I'm sorry. I know this is a stressful and insane time for everyone. But is CNN trying to apply levity with a joke headline? Are they trying to be funny, or just ironic?

I'm not going to make any jokes about Road Runner or Tom and Jerry. They just write themselves, don't they?

Airstrike by U.S. Draws Protests From Pakistanis - New York Times

Does anyone have the feeling that Bin Laden may have been captured already? He could be in a secret prison somewhere in the Alps for all we know. He could have been captured a year ago. One supposes that if he had been captured, there would be little incentive on the part of the Al Qaeda organization to publicize this, and there would be plenty of reason for the U.S. to maintain the possibility that he is still alive and at large.
Airstrike by U.S. Draws Protests From Pakistanis - New York Times: "Admiral Redd also pointed out in the interview that Mr. bin Laden had not made a public statement in more than a year and said 'there are a lot of theories' as to what that might mean. He declined to elaborate."
